Jost Knebel

Since 2026, Jost Knebel has been advising clients of BSL Transportation Consultants as an independent consultant on operational and commercial matters relating to bus and rail companies.

After studying Business Administration at the University of the Bundeswehr in Munich, he began his career in Controlling for passenger car development at Mercedes-Benz. From 1995 onwards, he worked in public transport at Deutsche Bahn, where he held numerous managing director positions in rail and bus companies. As a member of the Executive Board of Hamburger Hochbahn, Jost Knebel was subsequently responsible, among other things, for the bus and ferry divisions as well as for municipal transport planning.

Further leadership roles took him to Arriva Deutschland, first as Head of the Western Region and later as CEO of NETINERA Deutschland, which he successfully led and strategically expanded for more than ten years. From 2023 to 2025, he supported DB Regio in special assignments focused on economic and organizational optimization.

Today, Jost Knebel works as a self-employed consultant with a focus on turnaround and restructuring, efficiency projects, interim management, and executive coaching.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and his dog on Mallorca, where he also finds time to read and to enjoy nature on long walks.
